UNMC Skate-A-Thon for Parkinson’s January 25th and 26th
If you’re looking for an exciting, winter activity for next weekend, check out the UNMC Skate-a-thon for Parkinson’s. Not only is it a fun event, but you’ll also be partaking in a FUNdraiser as well.
This third annual event is the brainchild of Omaha’s own Wuebben family. In 2005, Colleen Wuebben was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease. To create awareness for the disease and raise money for research, the family began hosting the skate-a-thon in their backyard by constructing their own ice rink. It has since grown and now moved to the UNMC Ice Rink.
The 24 hour Skate-a-thon is a fun event for both skaters and spectators alike. There will be food, drinks, music and games. Check out the following websites for more information:
