The Leaves are Turning near this Omaha Apartment

And with the leaves changing color, comes autumn and all its fun.   Summer is over, and fall is in full tilt, meaning cooler weather, colorful trees changing and losing leaves, Halloween, and football.    If you are looking for fun things to do, here is a starter list of 8 things to try this year.

1)  Go see a Friday night High School football game.  Surely there is someone you root for…  or maybe you just want to see some good inexpensive action.   Check out http://www.neprepzone.com/section/prepzone01 for matchups each week.

2)  Get in full gear for Halloween.    There are many places selling costumes.   Get your idea NOW and have a Halloween get together, or Trick or Treat with your little ones.    Be a kid again!

3)  Visit Vala’s Pumpkin patch in Gretna.   It has so many fun things to do.   Here is the website to help you out..  be prepared, the weekends are very busy and the parking to get in can be tricky, so allow a little extra time.   This is a most-of-the-day event.   http://www.valaspumpkinpatch.com/

4)  Drive around town and check out the turning leaves..    or for a real treat, hit Fontenelle Forest.   You can go on hiking trails and see the leaves up close and personal.    Here is their website:  http://www.fontenelleforest.org/

5)  Bellevue Berry Farm has lots of fun stuff, including a scary hayrack ride, campfire areas for parties, and a haunted house.  Lots of fun for the whole family:  http://bellevueberryfarm.com/

6)  Go to Nebraska City and visit one of their amazing apple orchards.   Applejack Festival just passed in September, but you can still do lots of fun things and there is so much good food and apple cider to drink.     There are more than one orchard, so google Nebraska City apple orchards and plan a day.

7)  Attend a University of Nebraska football game.    Three more home games in 2013, all in November..  you have time to find a ticket to a game.    Google Nebraska football tickets to get your desired result… or ask around.   Someone you know has season tickets, or knows someone that does!!    This is an amazing all day event.

8)  Plan an evening of visiting Omaha’s Haunted Houses.   There are quite a few, so try this link to see which one is your favorite… or perhaps, least favorite (re: scariest!).   https://www.google.com/#q=omaha+haunted+houses+2013

If you can’t find something on this list, try Omaha.com for more weekly events.   Each Thursday, the events for the upcoming weekend (and week) are listed.

Have a wonderful fall, and don’t forget we’ll be changing clocks in less than a month!!
