Getting the Most Out of Your Storage Unit!

The more time we all spend at home, the more time we spend looking at all the extra stuff we have accumulated over the years. Many of your Robert Hancock & Co. properties have storage units available for all those things you don’t want to look at but aren’t ready to get rid of. Things like holiday decorations, seasonal clothing, extra furniture, and even electronics, can add to the everyday clutter that gets on our nerves. A storage unit can provide that little bit of extra space.

Now, just because all these items can FIT in a storage unit, that doesn’t mean they will be easy to find. To maximize the use of your storage unit, follow these simple tips!

  • Write it out:
    • Keeping a list of everything that you bring into a storage unit will save you time looking in the wrong place! A list will help you keep track of what you have in a storage unit at any time, which saves you time digging around.
  • Picture this:
    • Keep a picture or diagram of where things are within the storage unit to keep everything organized and easily accessible. A picture of sections of your storage unit can be kept on your phone so that you can see where the item is before you even start looking!
  • Safety first:
    • Place large, heavy, or bulky items closer to the ground for safety. Heavier items toward the top of a pile have a tendency to fall or damage the items below.
  • Think CLEAR-ly:
    • Investing in clear plastic storage bins so that you can see everything before you start stacking gives you a better chance at finding anything you’re looking for. One alternative would be large labels that you can briefly summarize what each box contains.
  • Organization is key:
    • Having an organized storage unit not only looks better, but it saves you the hassle of digging around looking for things. Organizing things by holiday, color, size, or function, can really come in handy when you’re looking for something specific. The items that you are going to use the most should always be the most accessible, so they should be stored near the front of the storage unit.

If you have one, or are thinking about getting one, these tips and tricks should help you get the most out of your storage unit!

Spring at Cedar – A Poem

Green all around,

Lots of wonderful grounds abound.

Bushes and grasses and trees,

Loads of space to roam free!

Sit with a neighbor in our shared spaces,

Start up the grill,

Feel the wind in our faces,

As one takes some time to chill.

Mowing and weed-eating each week,

To keep the community’s looks at their peak.

Tending to the mulch beds,

Fixing and patching up the sidewalks and lots,

So much can be said,

For the work that we put into these spots.

We are lucky for the residents that live with us,

For the community that we’re in.

The greenery and beauty is a definite plus,

but the people are where the good times begin!

Welcome in Spring 2021 with a New Home – Only two Left Until Summer!

Cedar Heights has been thrilled with the community we have throughout the winter; plenty of residents returning to live with us another year, and some new faces to round out our roster. We are always thankful to be the place that some call home, but like we always say, it has been a little sad to not have as many opportunities for new residents to swoop in and call home. With that said, we have made it a personal mission to try to get the word out as much as possible, and let everyone know if we ever have anything available. Knowing this, we checked what we had coming up, and we were a bit alarmed…

WE ONLY HAVE TWO MORE APARTMENTS LEFT FOR THE REST OF SPRING.

While this is a nice problem to have, it is a little sad that we will have so little to offer until Summer. Take a peak below to see more on these ONE-derful one bedroom apartments (see what we did there?).

  • 605 – One bedroom + loft, one bathroom, available between 4/23/2021 and 4/30/2021. 1240 sq. ft. and priced at $930/mo. Includes a balcony, fireplace, dishwasher, refrigerator, garbage disposal and stove/range. (Washer/dryer units are provided communally on each floor in the building)
  • 713 – One bedroom, one bathroom, available between 4/23/2021 and 4/30/2021. 690 sq. ft. and priced at $700/mo. Includes a patio walkout, fireplace, dishwasher, refrigerator, garbage disposal and stove/range. (Washer/dryer units are provided communally on each floor in the building)

We are sure that these spaces will not last long, so inquire today! Once they are gone it is very likely that we will not have anything else until June or July. Please inquire with our office by contacting us through the following means:

  1. Phone: (402)889-3560
  2. Email: cedarheights@roberthancockco.com
  3. Facebook: @rhccedarheights
  4. Website: https://roberthancockco.com/property/cedar-heights/

Finally, if you are a current resident, but know someone that may be looking for an apartment such as the ones listed below, let them know! If they state that you referred them when they first reach out about the apartment, you will be eligible for a resident referral bonus of $100 (they have to mention you by name upon first inquiry in order for you to be eligible).

Usher in Spring with a new home in a beautiful, green community. Share that time with great neighbors, attentive staff, and plenty of space (both inside the apartment and out). We can’t wait to hear from you!

Updates at Pacific Gardens Apartments: Looking Forward

On our last post, we talked about some construction projects that were being done along a vast stretch of 78th street right behind our community. A public meeting has been held, and there have been some updates, as well as changes made to the timeline of the projects from our original post. Please find the link to the website documenting these changes here. We will try to be up-to-date with all of this work, and continue to let our residents know so that their are no surprises. That said, construction like this is bound to throw us all for a loop, and we ask that everyone, including our neighbors be patient with the city while it is completed.

Similarly noted will be work that we are going to be completing over the coming weeks! Going back to last summer, a hail storm happened that caused a lot of damage to siding, windows and roofs of our lovely buildings. We were crushed. Hearts broken. However, our office could not let this stand, and over the last few months, we have gotten windows and screens replaced on many of our buildings. We also started re-shingling our damaged roofs, with the rest of this work being completed in Spring. Finally, the time is here! We are now starting to replace siding on buildings that were damaged by hail.

This work is set to begin on Tuesday, February 4th, with crews coming in to work on building 21. After this, they will head over to building 1, and tackle one/two buildings a week. Soon, we will have any buildings with damaged siding fixed. Our excitement is immeasurable, and we hope that this is something that our residents will be happy with, too.

There is other work that is set to take place, too! Much of it is tentative, so for now, we cannot say much. Still, we are looking forward to the time in which we can roll out these improvements. Pacific Gardens is something that we are really proud of; we are blessed everyday with large and open grounds, and comfortable, private apartments for our wonderful residents to enjoy. We know our residents and guests deserve this, so we are more than willing to continue this work to shape the community into something everyone loves. Thanks go out to every person who make Pacific Gardens what it is, and we look forward to positive changes, both large and small.
