Celebrate October at Fall/Halloween Themed Locations

The Cedar Heights staff loves Fall. Honestly, it is a bit of an obsession, and we want to share that love and zeal with all of our guests and residents. However, things are a little different this year with what Fall locales are open, and what new requirements they have to keep people safe. Luckily, we are here to help! We will include some of our most anticipated places to visit this October (pumpkin patches, haunted attractions, etc.), and tell you what you will need to expect if you are planning on going to one of them! We want to keep you safe while allowing you a little piece of normalcy this Fall!

  • Vala’s Pumpkin Patch

Website: https://www.valaspumpkinpatch.com/

With all sorts of rides, attractions, apple orchard and pumpkin patch, Vala’s is a must see this and every season. In order to visit, you will need to wear a mask in all lines, on all attractions and in all spaces where adequate social distancing is not possible. They are also limiting capacity, and will cut off admissions if capacity is reached. So, if you are planning on attending, it is recommended to purchase tickets sooner rather than later!

Bellevue Berry and Pumpkin Patch

Website: https://bellevueberryfarm.com/

Another wonderful pumpkin patch with plenty of other activities to partake in! They are requiring masks for everyone attending, with the assumption that the mask is to be worn at all times unless eating or drinking. We are unsure about their occupancy or availability, so please check in with them via their website for more details.

Scary Acres

Website: https://www.scaryacres.com/

One of the few Omaha Haunted Houses that will be open for this Halloween Season. Their website details all of the safety precautions they are taking, but with a large set of grounds to accommodate social distancing, Scary Acres will be a fun, scary, and safe (please visit at your own risk) experience in October.

Haunted Hollow Scream Park

Website: https://www.hauntedhollowomaha.com/

Another large-setting Haunted House that will be open this October. They are taking the same precautions as Scary Acres, and boast many attractions and events. This should be another Haunt you will not want to miss.

Prospect Hill Cemetery Tour

Website: https://www.visitomaha.com/event/prospect-hill-cemetery-tour/34206/

A tour of a cemetery, full of spooky, interesting and intriguing tales? Sign us up!  These tours, which are happening all the way up to Halloween night, will be a great way to get that chill down your spine while also doing something educational and a little off the beaten path.

Trick or Treat Nights at Omaha Children’s Museum

Website: https://www.visitomaha.com/event/trick-or-treat-nights/34237/

Hooray for some safe, kid-friendly fun! On October 16th and October 23rd, Omaha Children’s Museum will be hosting Trick or Treat Nights, allowing children to take the O.C.M S.T.E.A.M wagon to different Halloween-themed activities. Pre-packaged candy and goodies will be given. Take the family for a fun night at one of Omaha’s most well-known locations! (The Durham Museum is doing something similar on October 24th and 25th!)

Thursday Theater in the Capitol District: October Films

Website: https://www.visitomaha.com/event/thursday-theater%3a-ghostbusters/34241/

For all the Halloween film junkies out there, the Capitol District is hosting a free screening of different Halloween movies through October. This will start tonight with the airing of the classic Ghostbusters! Keep on eye on the Capitol District for more information on what movie will be playing each Thursday!

These are just a portion of the activities you will find in the greater Omaha area during the month of October and for Fall 2020. If you would like more resources for exciting, fun, scary or relaxing things to do this Autumn, check the link out here: Omaha Events for Fall 2020.

We hope this will help everyone find something to do this year that is safe and fun! We know that this time of year is a big hit with many, us included, and although some things are not available to do in 2020, we want it to be known that there are still plenty ways to enjoy this time. Be safe, stay healthy, and Happy Fall!
