Summer’s Last Hurrah Near These Papillion Apartments!

Even though this week is starting to feel more like winter, next week is showing promise of warm, summery weather! With September passing by quickly, it definitely makes us motivated to enjoy the outdoors while we can!

Here are some suggestions to get out in nature, all within 30 minutes of our community:

Fontenelle Forest

Located in neighboring Bellevue, Nebraska, Fontenelle Forest offers trails, an accessible boardwalk, the opportunity to view rescued raptors, and a children’s forest play area.

Schramm Park State Recreation Area

Just west, in Gretna, Nebraska, Schramm Park offers an opportunity to peep the fall foliage, view the fish hatchery ponds, picnic, and enjoy a nature trail.

Platte River State Park

In nearby Louisville, Platte River State Park has miles of trails, different camping opportunities, fishing, paddle boating, horseback riding, and an access point for kayaking/canoeing.

Looking to stay closer to home? Our Shadow Lake residents have easy access to Shadow Lake which offer a paved walking trail and fishing. Residents can also enjoy time at our pool (until 9/20)!
