We just had a company meeting today and one of the topics on the agenda was tornado safety. Not something you normally think about on a regular basis, but definitely pertinent information to be aware of, especially living in the Midwest. Janice asked if we knew the difference between a Tornado Watch and a Tornado Warning. I was embarrassed to say that I certainly didn’t and I have lived in Omaha for the better part my life. Sure, I’d heard of the terms, but could I actually explain them to someone? Most likely not. So here is a helpful website with some safety tips, terminology and preparation suggestions: http://www.fema.gov/areyouready/tornadoes.shtm
If you are not aware of the closest tornado shelter in your apartment complex, please ask your on-site staff.
