‘Red Tails” George Lucas’ new epic film premieres in Omaha, Ne January 20th at Aksarben Cinema

The latest epic from producer George Lucas is premiering here in Omaha, Ne at our newest theatre, The Aksarben Cinema 67th and Center St.  The premier, red carpet and all, will be Friday January 20, 2012 with the movie showing at 7:05pm The movie is a world war II action adventure. Red Tails film is a fictional tale inspired by the true story of America’s first all black aerial combat unit the Tuskegee Airmen of which 4 still live in the Omaha/Bellevue Ne area. The movie is starring Cuba Gooding Jr., Terrance Howard and Nate Parker. The film’s title comes for the distinctive red painted tails on their planes.

“I’ve been wanting to do ‘Red Tails’ for 20 years, and we’ve finally got the means to showcase the skill of the Tuskegee pilots,” Lucas said. “We’re working on techniques which will give us the first true look at the aerial dogfighting of the era. And our top-notch cast will really make this story special” said Lucas.
