Moving into an apartment is fun, but sometimes it takes a while for it to feel like home. Here are a few tips!
-Unpack! Don’t push the last of the moving boxes to the back of the closet for a few months. You’ll be amazed at how much a difference this simple step will make.
-Put things on the wall! Be careful not to damage the drywall, and if you have any questions on what’s allowed, call your main office.
-Avoid too many plastic storage containers. A few here and there help organize, but they can easily make your apartment look like a dorm.
-Buy things because you love them, not because they are on sale. I always go for a clearance sticker, but I feel like that makes me buy things because it’s a good deal, not because I want them. It just feels like clutter after a while.
-Add a rug! Even though most apartments come with nice clean carpets, a large area rug adds color and personality. Plus, it keeps the carpet underneath fresh and ensures you’ll get your deposit back!
-Living plants! They add life to your home, but don’t worry if you don’t have a green thumb. If it dies, remember- for just a few dollars, you can always buy another one!
