Holiday Weekend Events

School is starting, which means summertime is coming to an end, but before we say our farewells to Summer and welcome Fall, we have found some fun things to do around the metro for this long holiday weekend. All activities are family-friendly activities for all ages.

Sunflower Festival at Nelson Produce & Farm located in Valley, NE. August 29^th-September 1^st.

• Every day they have fun events planned that are kid friendly and full of fun.

Night Market @ Turner Park – August 29^th from 6-10pm

• Hosting 40+ local vendors, boutiques and makers.
• This event has fun events, games, activities, and more for a family-friendly night.

Omaha Farmer’s Market – The perfect place to find those amazing locally-produced products that you cannot find at the store.

• August 30^th – Old Market 8am-12:30pm
• August 31^st – Aksarben Village 9am-1pm

Saturdays @ Stinson Park – Free live music for the family, or for a fun parent’s night out.

• The 70’s Band will be playing August 30^th from 7-10pm

Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo – Open daily from 9am-5pm (4/1-11/3)

• I’m sure we all know by now that we are lucky to have the #1 Zoo in the Nation in our very own backyard, I mean how could we not. The Omaha Doorly Zoo has 160 acres of not only animals, but plants and the habitats of the animals they care for. Not only does our zoo cover all this land outside, but there are also 7 acres of indoor exhibits that they keep open year-round.
