Have A Healthy, Happy New Year At Highclere Apartments!

A new year is upon us, and now is a great time to set the tone for the year to come. Here are a few tips for you to have a happy, healthy, and safe 2016!

Drive Safely
Unfortunately, this time of year brings snow, cold, ice and all of the driving challenges that come along with it.  The most important part of safe winter driving is taking your time. Take the time to fully clear your windows of snow and ice for maximum visibility. Allow yourself extra time for travel on snowy days, so you can drive at a safe pace.

Eat Well
After a busy December of parties, family gatherings, and all the tasty Christmas treats, January is a great time to get back on track with healthy eating. A great way to get your veggies, and keep warm is to make your own soups. An easy way to do this is with a slow cooker. You can even freeze your leftovers for easy meal prep!

Stay Active
Speaking of holiday indulgence, winter can seem like a difficult time to stay active. At Highclere, we are fortunate enough to be just a short drive from a couple of area gyms. Snowed in? There are plenty of fun exercises that can be done at home. Squats, crunches, and yoga can all be done in a small space and won’t disturb your downstairs neighbors!
