How To Make Your Apartment Feel Like Home!

Moving into an apartment is fun, but sometimes it takes a while for it to feel like home. Here are a few tips!
-Unpack! Don’t push the last of the moving boxes to the back of the closet for a few months. You’ll be amazed at how much a difference this simple step will make.
-Put things on the wall! Be careful not to damage the drywall, and if you have any questions on what’s allowed, call your main office.
-Avoid too many plastic storage containers. A few here and there help organize, but they can easily make your apartment look like a dorm.
-Buy things because you love them, not because they are on sale. I always go for a clearance sticker, but I feel like that makes me buy things because it’s a good deal, not because I want them. It just feels like clutter after a while.
-Add a rug! Even though most apartments come with nice clean carpets, a large area rug adds color and personality. Plus, it keeps the carpet underneath fresh and ensures you’ll get your deposit back!
-Living plants! They add life to your home, but don’t worry if you don’t have a green thumb. If it dies, remember- for just a few dollars, you can always buy another one!

Omaha’s Villa Vinee Apartments wants to remind tenants to license your pets!

Since the deadline to have your pets licensed is approaching (March 15th!), we at Villa Vinee except cats for pets and want to remind our tenants with cats to make sure your pet is properly licensed and your pet paperwork is filed with our office! You can license them at your local vet, or at the Nebraska Humane Society- by mail, in person or online! Visit their website for more information!

Stop by the office of Omaha’s Villa Vinee Apartments for a cookie!

Every morning at the Villa Vinee office, we make sure to have a batch of fresh from the oven cookies waiting for you! We want you to know that we value you… whether you’ve been here for 20 years or you’re just moving in! A delicious Otis Spunkmeyer cookie is our way of saying, “Thank You” for being a part of our community.

We are excited to be trying a new batch this week- “Carnival!” It’s a fun and colorful cookie comprised of multi-colored candied gems made from semi-sweet chocolate coated in a confectioner’s glaze. Yum!

Do you have a favorite type of Otis Spunkmeyer Cookie? Let us know! We’d love for your choice to be featured!

Villa Vinee Apartments Very Excited About Omaha’s New Plans for Crossroads Mall

2 weeks ago it was anounced that Crossroads Mall will be getting a makeover! While Target, Sears, Barnes and Nobles, the parking garage and the former Dillards building will remain, the rest of the mall will be demolished to make way for an “open-air space.” It will include restaurants, retail shops and housing. It is even speculated that a new Omaha Public Library will be part of the plans. Crossroads Mall will be renamed “University Village at Crossroads.” The project is expected to be completed by Thansgiving 2013.

We here at Villa Vinee highly anticipate the upcoming change. Since Crossroads is less than a mile away, we are very excited at all of the new attractions that our neighborhood will feature! We couldn’t be happier to be a 3 minute drive away from the city’s newest, hippest attraction!
